HOW OUR SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM WORK
ChildHope Uganda’s Sponsorship Program currently assists more than 50 children in need living in various villages around the District Kampala District has 5 subcounties, 76 parishes and 3104 villages.and some of these include Namasuba, Luzira etc.
Our goal is to help children in need remain in school. One of the ways that we do this is through our sponsorship program. Many of the children accepted into Child Foundation’s sponsorship program are living in severe poverty, existing on less than $1.00 a day.
The rationale behind selecting children who are high achievers is to help these children, and their respective families, end the cycle of poverty. By helping children in need stay in school, we enable them to participate not only in their own transformation, but also transforming their family for generations to come.
By giving children who are living in poverty access to education today, they receive the tools to become self-sufficient, contributing members of society tomorrow.
How it is done
Generally, community members, schools or individuals of the village notify ChildHope uganda’s boad members when a child, family or community is experiencing hardship.
Once the family or child has been identified, one of the ChildHope uganda’s boad member visits the family and prepares a detailed report of the family’s situation.
This report includes all aspects of the child’s life: the financial details, the family's education and history, and the family's medical and living conditions. Once a child has been accepted into our sponsorship program, he or she is then provided with all the necessary help.
Living in poverty is difficult enough. But families can be devastated when severe conditions like cancer, and others chronic diseases, traumatic injury occur and no money is available for treatment. ChildHope uganda steps in to help with the situations that include surgery, vision and hearing issues, wheelchairs, trauma counseling and funeral expenses.
